Protecting iQsub BOVs and DSVs When They’re Off the Unit
When a BOV or DSV is removed from the loop, the bayonet connector and internal mushroom valves are exposed. During transport or storage, it’s easy for those components to get bumped, contaminated, or unintentionally deformed - especially when gear is packed tightly in bins or cases.
These iQsub BOV / DSV Protective Caps are designed to cover the bayonet connector and protect the mushroom valves when the unit is not in use.
Purpose-Built Protection
Machined from solid Delrin, the caps provide a rigid, impact-resistant barrier that helps prevent:
- Damage to mushroom valves
- Contamination from dust, grit, or debris
- Accidental deformation during transport or storage
The cap stays in place while handling or packing, making it well suited for travel, long-term storage, or surface intervals when the BOV or DSV is disconnected.
Left and Right Bayonet Compatibility
iQsub uses different bayonet designs for left and right connectors. These caps are designed to fit all iQsub bayonet connectors, including:
- Left-hand (3-start) bayonet
- Right-hand (4-start) bayonet
Separate caps are used for the left and right sides to ensure a proper fit and secure coverage.
