Why We Stock HYDPRO Hoses

HYDPRO HP Accurate Series Hose

Why We Stock HYDPRO Hoses

We spent a long time looking for hoses that matched how we think about gear - built right, tested hard, no compromises where it counts. HYDPRO is what we landed on.

They're an Italian manufacturer (Ferplast SRL, based in Sori, Genoa) that does one thing: underwater air management. Not a company that makes hoses on the side of something else. Gas management is the entire operation - hoses, inflator units, OPVs, DSVs, connectors. That focus matters when you're trusting a hose at depth.

What's actually inside these hoses

HYDPRO hoses are a three-layer construction. The inner tube is polyurethane. The reinforcement layer uses high-resistance aramid fibres - the same class of material you find in ballistic applications. The outer coating varies by series: thermoplastic NBR on the HP Accurate line, low-opacity polyurethane on the LP Classic and Smooth Pro lines.

The layer-coadhesion process is where it gets interesting. HYDPRO developed a method to bond these layers together under controlled conditions that maximizes mechanical solidity without adding bulk. The result is a hose that's lighter and more flexible than most of what's on the market, while handling burst pressures at more than twice the EN 250:2014 mandated levels.

HYDPRO HP Accurate Series Composition

Micro-drilling leak detection

Every HYDPRO hose has a micro-drilling system built into the construction. If a hose develops any internal damage - even something small - gas migrates through the micro-drilled pathways and becomes visible on the outer surface as bubbling. You see the problem before it becomes a failure. That's a meaningful safety feature for anyone running stages, doubles, or a rebreather where you can't just surface and swap a hose.

161 lab tests per hose

HYDPRO runs 161 different tests on their hoses covering mechanical performance, physical properties, and environmental resistance. Every product carries a serial number that traces back through the entire production cycle - from the batch of raw materials through final testing. All hoses are UNI-EN 250:2014 certified, which is the European standard for open circuit self-contained compressed air diving apparatus.

The production process uses no solvent-based glues or adhesives. The hoses come out non-toxic and completely odorless. That's not just an environmental consideration - it matters if you're running O2-clean gas paths where hydrocarbon contamination is a real concern.

The series we carry

We stock three HYDPRO lines across LP and HP:

The HP Accurate Series is their high-pressure SPG hose. Thermoplastic NBR coating, compact diameter, extremely flexible for an HP line. Available in sizes from 6" up to 30" - covering sidemount, stage, and backmount SPG configurations.

The LP Classic Series covers inflator and drysuit hoses. This is HYDPRO's workhorse LP line - good flexibility, satin finish, and the structural consistency that comes from the aramid-reinforced construction. We carry inflator hoses from 8" to 44" and drysuit inflator hoses from 8" to 36", so you can get the right length for GUE-standard setups, sidemount routing, or rebreather configurations like Gemini and MK.

The LP Smooth Pro Series is their top-tier regulator hose. The polyurethane outer coating gives it outstanding abrasion resistance and - this is the key differentiator - it stays fully flexible in cold water. If you're diving cold, these don't stiffen up the way conventional hoses do. We carry regulator hoses from 15" up to 84" (7 feet), covering everything from rebreather BOV and diluent lines to full-length primary regulator hoses for backmount and sidemount.

Nitrox-ready and O2 Clean - in stock

Every hose we stock ships with either Viton O-rings (Nitrox-ready, compatible with enriched air up to 40%) or full O2 Clean preparation (oxygen-level cleaning and controlled assembly for mixes above 40%). These aren't add-on options you wait for - they're how we order them. If you're running nitrox or oxygen-rich bailout, the hose is ready to go out of the box.

Why it matters for rebreather divers

Rebreather configurations demand hoses in specific lengths that open-water recreational gear doesn't typically cover. A Gemini spares set needs a 44" LP inflator. An MK setup needs 15", 22", 30", 36", and 44" LP hoses. Sidemount rebreather builds need short 6", 8", and 9" runs that most manufacturers don't bother making.

HYDPRO offers custom lengths, and we've worked with them to stock the sizes that actually get used in technical and rebreather diving. Combined with the O2 Clean and Nitrox-ready options, these hoses are ready for the gas mixes and routing configurations that matter in real-world technical diving.
